IRdA compatible so you can talk
to your Palm with it: you can beam Palm address book entries straight into the 8210.
This functionality works for Nokia 7110, 8210 and 8850 series phones
straight out of the box - just select beam address and zap them right into that delightful
little talkpiece (find out how here). This
also applies vice versa (Nokia 8210 beaming Business Cards and Calendar Notes to Palm).
You can also do this with Calendar Notes.
Do you have a Motorola v3688 (the 'Vee Dot')? Nyyahhh. The V. is quite thick
(26mm), the 8210 is only 17.4mm thick. So nyahhh! :-)
A choice phone. It's alot less $
than the Nokia 8850, does all the same stuff, and is lighter. The calendar feature
remember's birthdays and even works out a person's age each year then reminds you a few
days before to buy them a present! Features are well implemented. Has a
250 number memory (and another 250 in the SIM card) , space for five aditional ringtones
if your're into that and also has interchangeable front covers. Charge time is very
quick. 8210's are not cheap but the price is coming down. Excellent telecommunications device.
But don't get it becuase Doctor
Salami likes being one of the few to have one. :-)
If you are looking
for a cell phone (anywhere in the world, but particularly in the USA), go to Respond.com.
Organized by categories (Consumer Electronics, Services, Travel, etc...), you
locate the category that best describes the product or service you're looking for (in this
case, cell phones and plans) and simply key in your needs into the Buyer Request Form.
This is the page where you'll tell them what you want - just fill out a few pieces of
important information and click "Send Request".
Merchants will then e-mail you their best price and shipping costs.Remember, you're
under no obligation to buy and your email address always remains anonymous to Respond.com sellers.
I've tried it with the Nokia 8210 and received several repsonses
from merchants.
You can also download 1533 (count 'em!) Nokia ringtones (zipped)
in .midi format for conversion.
Don't e-mail asking how to convert these...you'll find everything you need to know by
clicking on the 'GSM TopSites' (green) banner below or get Midi2Tone (zip file): Coverts Midi files to Nokring
files
Where can I download
a copy of the Nokia Cellular Data Suite (NCDS)
(or other Nokia related software) so I can try it out before I buy it?
There are 100
links on the GSM Topsitez Page...click on the (green) link at right.
THE NOKIA CELLULAR DATA SUITE (NCDS) 3 IS FOR
THE 51XX AND 61XX SERIES PHONES ONLY!
NCDS is a product for a specific phones (51xx and 61xx Nokia series).
There is only the 'little' suite for the 8210 & 8850. Okay? Cool.
Highly Recommended
